TM subscribers can now upgrade their old SIM cards to LTE or 5G-ready SIMs for free at any Globe Store. This upgrade allows you to enjoy faster internet speeds while keeping your current prepaid number. You’ll also receive free mobile data as a bonus for upgrading.

Why Upgrade Your TM SIM?

Upgrading to an LTE/5G-ready SIM improves your mobile experience by giving you access to a stronger and faster internet connection. TM is continuously improving its network, and using an upgraded SIM ensures you can take full advantage of these enhancements.

In addition, users who upgrade from a non-LTE SIM to an LTE/5G-ready SIM will receive 1 GB of free data per day, valid for 30 days, for apps such as Mobile Legends, Facebook, Kumu, and TikTok.

How to Upgrade Your TM SIM

Step 1: Insert your new TM LTE/5G SIM into the same phone and SIM slot where your old SIM was previously inserted.

Step 2: Enter your 11-digit mobile number and press OK.

Step 3: Wait for the system to validate your request.

Step 4: Once the upgrade is successful, you will receive a confirmation message via SMS.

After the upgrade, you can continue using your old mobile number along with your existing balance, active promos like Comboall20, Supersurf, easysurf, surf4all99, and TM Rewards points.

Before Upgrading

  • Back up all your contacts and text messages stored in the old SIM to your phone’s internal memory.
  • Ensure that your old TM SIM is still working. The upgrade process only works with active and functioning SIMs.
  • For lost or damaged SIM cards, visit the nearest Globe Store for SIM replacement instead of using the Upgrade SIM.

Where to Get a Free Upgrade SIM

You can claim a free TM Upgrade SIM at any nearby Globe Store. It’s recommended to set an online appointment to avoid long wait times. Customers with booked appointments will be prioritized.

You can also purchase a TM Upgrade SIM for PHP 10 from Globe Stores or authorized retailers.

Requirements for SIM Upgrade:

  • Your working 3G TM SIM (to be upgraded)
  • A valid government-issued ID
  • Your mobile device
  • A completed Google Form (if you booked an appointment online)

How to Check If Your SIM Is Already LTE/5G-Ready

Device Compatibility

The LTE/5G SIM works on all types of mobile phones. However, for the best browsing experience, your device should also support LTE or 5G, and you should be in an area with LTE or 5G network coverage.

SIM Upgrade Without OTP (PIN-less Upgrade)

Upgrading from 2G/3G to a 5G-ready SIM no longer requires a one-time PIN (OTP). The system will automatically verify and process the request, making the upgrade faster and easier. Make sure to insert the new SIM in the same phone and same SIM slot as your previous SIM.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Wait for at least 5 minutes. Some phones may take longer to detect the new SIM.
  • If it still doesn’t appear, your phone may not be compatible with the Upgrade SIM. Try using a different device.
  • Reinsert your old 2G/3G SIM in the original device and SIM slot.
  • Text UPGRADE to 8080 within 2 minutes.
  • Insert the new Upgrade SIM into the same SIM slot.
  • Your SIM will now be upgraded successfully.

No. The upgrade will only be successful if the new SIM is inserted in the same device and SIM slot used by your old SIM.

If you purchase a new prepaid SIM, you must register it immediately to activate the SIM. You can only use your SIM until its shelf life expires, as stated on the packaging.

You are allowed three attempts per day. If you reach the limit of failed attempts, you must wait 24 hours before trying again.

Yes, but only if your old SIM is still functioning. Make sure to back up important data before upgrading, as content saved on the old SIM will not be automatically transferred to the new SIM.
